david carleton

accompanist

David Carleton, pianist, has been accompanying several choirs of the New York City Children’s Chorus since its beginning at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church. An advocate for early childhood music education, he introduced the Suzuki Piano Method to three New York City community music schools including the Turtle Bay Music School where he served as Executive Director. Having witnessed the transformative power of music in the lives of his organist son and violinist daughter, Mr. Carleton wants to pass on this gift through his work with the children of the NYCCC.

As a pianist he has collaborated with violinist Isaac Stern, flautist Paula Robison, harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper and performed as concerto soloist with the Meridian String Quartet and the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Carleton is an Elder at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church and tenor in the church choir.
